    PCRC at the FAIR

     PCRC at the Fair

The PCRC will have a booth at the Pinal County Fair providing us with an opportunity to visit with the voters over the 56 hours the fair is open for the 5 days. The expected attendance is between 35,000 to 40,000.

We need volunteers to man the booth helping the PCRC at the Fair for these 56 hours.

What is your job as a volunteer?Pinal County Fair

    1.  Inform voters about Presidential Preference Election which is March 22,2016 (unless the legislature changes the date) and most importantly who is eligible to vote. The largest voting block in AZ are Independents. Independents are not eligible to vote, Independents are not a recognized party in AZ and only voters in recognized parties vote in the Presidential Preference election party.
In 2008 and 2012 we had some Independents change their registration to Republican to vote. We want to get Independents back in the Republican Party. We will have a sign explaining eligibility.

    2.  Conduct a straw poll for Republican Presidential candidate. Who do the voters of Pinal County want as their Republican Presidential candidate? The winner will be announced on our website.

    3.  Register voters

    4.  Greet and help our elected officials who visit our booth as they talk to their constituents.

Volunteers will be provided a pass by PCRC to enter the fair. No cost to you.

Prior to this formal request for volunteers some people have already stepped forward. Consequently Saturday the 21st is already staffed.

It is helpful to have 2 volunteers per shift. The schedule is as follows:

    PCRC at Fairs and Festivals

The month of March brought the Pinal County Fair (March 19-23, 2014). Participating and having a presence in the community is important to the Pinal County Republican Committee. We had a booth at the fair this month to register voters and to allow the public to meet many of the candidates running for offices this year.

The booth this year was a great success! How do you measure success?

According to survey filled out by our booth volunteers we did the following at the fair:

    • Number of folks who stopped by the Republican to talk about issues, concerns, and opinions, and to meet candidates:  204
    • Number of newly registered Republicans: 12
    • Number of candidates who campaigned at the Republican booth: 17
    • One candidate obtained 80 signatures on his petition and 20 five-dollar clean election signatures !!!
    • We have ideas on how we can be even more successful in the future!
